NRE : Exam & Application Fees


The Examination Fee -- is charged by a COLEM (Commercial Operator License Examination Manager.) This fee can vary depending upon which Commercial Operator License Examination Manager (COLEM) administers the examination, and the number and type of test elements administered. This fee is paid to the examiners.

As of January 1, 2010, National Radio Examiners charges $25 per test element with a two element per session minimum (for a minimum of $50 per testing session).  This is the only license fee that examinees pay to the examiner. 

The FCC Application Fees -- there is a $35.00 FCC application fee to process the license application. The FCC sends and email with a link to pay this fee or you can login to the FCC.gov/cores and go to fees and payment to pay the application fee.
